Sony to Release Concussion Movie Starring Will Smith on December 25th

Overland Park, KS: Minds Matter, LLC is excited to announce that the movie Concussion, starting Will Smith and Alec Baldwin, will be released on Friday, December 25th, 2015. We, along with brain injury awareness advocates nationwide, welcome the discussions that will occur as a result of this movie. We hope that this movie will expose the symptoms, treatment, and challenges of dealing with a concussion.
According to IMDb, Concussion is “a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true David vs. Goliath story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu, the brilliant forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of CTE, a football-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu’s emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful institutions in the world.”
The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City and its sponsor AMC Theaters will present a one-time private screening of the film at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13th, 2016, at AMC Studio 28, 12075 South Strang Line, Olathe KS. This private screening will be immediately followed by a discussion with a panel of experts in concussion and brain injury.
